Camp is not just for kids anymore. Join us for a day chalk full of activities for the 21 and over: yoga, swimming, wine seminars, live music and more. The Merrill’s are opening up their newlyremodeled estate for a day of camp fun. Choose one activity or choose them all; there is something for everyone. Throughout the day the pool and tennis/basketball court will be open. Bring your suits, towels, tennis shoes and rackets and stay all day! Morning: Yoga in the Vines. Led by our tasting room manager and certified yoga instructor, Sara Pritchard, start your day off with a relaxing stretch overlooking the vineyard. Mid-Morning: Wine seminar led by sommelierMark William Stern and our Winemaker Jim Shumate. Swirl, smell, and sip with us as they lead us to a better understanding of the complexities of our wines. Lunch: We’ll be serving up BBQ poolside. Wine will be flowing. Live music will be jammin’. Afternoon: Float in the pool, soak up the sun, or start a tennis match. Home tours will be available.

Salon Roux, Paso Robles’ premiere full service salon and spa located in the heart of wine country, announces a special benefit concert to celebrate its fifth anniversary. WHO: The concert will feature singer-songwriter, A.J. Croce, with special guests, The Janks, to benefit Studios on the Park’s "Kids Art Smart" program. WHEN: Saturday, August 23 at 6:30 p.m. WHERE: Presented under the stars at Castoro Cellars Winery, 1315 N. Bethel Rd, Templeton, CA. WHY: “Kids Art Smart” brings local elementary students to Studios on the Park in Paso Robles, directly utilizing the artists studio setting for unique art education studying and creating works of art in mediums such as ceramics, collage, oil pastels, printmaking, and watercolor. Since 2011, more than 4,000 public elementary students have visited Studios on the Park for hands-on professional art classes completely free of charge and during school hours. Ordinarily these students (47 percent of whom are considered low-income and at-risk) receive no formal arts education. TICKETS: Individual tickets to the benefit concert are $50 each. VIP tables include wine and dinner, and are $250 for two people, $500 for four people and $750 for six people. Mission San Antonio de Padua is launching a new series of free lectures and concerts as a gift to the community. The first event, free to the public, will be comprised of lectures on the Archaeology of the Mission. This event will be held on August 23, 2014. At 1:00 PM a walking tour of the Mission grounds will be provided. At 2:00 PM the lectures will commence in the 201 year old Mission Church. Dr. Robert Hoover (Archaeologist and Professor Emeritus, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) will share over 30 years of his research at the Mission. Ms. Barbara Louise Pence (Institute of Canine Forensics) will present the role of forensic dogs in investigating the Mission grounds. Dr. Lewis Somers (Geoscan Research USA) will discuss the use of ground penetrating scientific instruments in archaeological studies at the Mission. The lectures will be followed by a light reception of desserts and refreshments.

For the 6th straight year, cigar connoisseurs and wine enthusiasts will gather in Paso Robles for the Central California Coast’s premiere festival, Crush & Roll West. This celebration of premium cigars, premium wine and the good life, takes place Sept. 5-6, 2014 in the heart of the wine country in San Luis Obispo County. In addition to sampling world-class cigars and wines, attendees will learn the finer points of both from expert vintners and cigar manufacturers. This year once again, both the Friday evening and Saturday events will be held at the Paso Robles Event Center, which is home to hundreds of events throughout the year, including the yearly California Mid-State Fair. The Event Center is right off the 101 freeway and is easily accessible from any of the fine Paso Robles hotels and motels. There will be separate pricing for Friday-only, Saturday-only, Social Tickets (non-cigar), and an Early-bird specials. Looking to Renew or Say I Do? Be One of 125 Couples to Celebrate 125 Years of History Couples looking to get married this fall have a BIG decision to make: Go the big traditional route or get married with 124 other couples. On Sunday, September 14, 2014 @ 2pm, the Paso Robles Inn will be turned into a wedding celebration of gigantic proportions when 125 couples receive their vows - or renew their vows - as part of the ongoing celebration of the 125th anniversary of the City of Paso Robles. The wedding will be held in the expansive gardens at the Inn beginning outside the Grand Ballroom where a group photo will be shot. Then the processional winds through the gardens, over the bridge, and along the pathway. The couples will read their vows by Georgia Collins, from Ceremonies Your Way, and then individually pronounced. Next a photographer will be on hand to take photos of each couple. There will also be a guest book, and a time capsule for the couples to add their individual mementos. Each couple will receive commemorative champagne glass, along with a champagne toast and cake. The ballroom will be set up with a lavish buffet so that the couples can invite family and friends to eat, drink, and celebrate after the ceremony.
