Vintage Sidecar Show and collectors, dealers, crafters, and garden enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Recycled Treasures portion of our Vintage Sidecar, Recycled Treasures and Pre-1950 Motorcycles event on Saturday, April 26, 2014, in the downtown city park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Spaces are approximately 15 feet by 15 feet and cost $55 each. Admission is FREE to the public.

Dinner to benefit Project Hope and Fairness $55/pp for 5 dishes and 5 wines. Enjoy exciting food prepared by Chef Tom Drahos of Avant-Garde Experience paired with Pear Valley wines while raising money for this summer’s Project Hope and Fairness trip to Cameroon, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire. Of course, there will be chocolate. Join in the silent auction fun, all for a sweet cause. Venue, wines, and food have all been donated. The proceeds raised from this fundraiser will support travel to Africa, travel within Cameroon, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire, food and lodging, and the purchase of $5,000 worth of tools to be distributed to 15 villages. Every penny raised at this fundraiser from ticket sales and the silent auction goes to make this summer’s efforts on behalf of the cocoa farmer a reality. We hope guests will be inspired by our keynote speaker, Kelsey Timmermanback. Author and world traveler Kelsey Timmerman will once again share his chocolate land insights which he developed in his book Where Am I Eating?

To celebrate the arrival of summer, local growers and producers of extra virgin olive oils, makers of fine wines, and selected purveyors of the “good life” here on the Central Coast will join in the 2014 “Taste of Templeton.” Held in conjunction with the Saturday Farmer’s Market in the Templeton Community Park, the Central Coast Olive Growers (CCOG) is the event organizer in coordination with the Templeton Chamber of Commerce. The event will highlight the emergence of local area growers as producers of the finest, award-winning, extra virgin olive oils now being offered in the United States. CCOG members will pour samples of their artisanal olive oils, explain how it is produced, and describe the health benefits of really fresh, really good extra virgins olive oils. CCOG members will describe how olive oil is produced and used, as well as explain the benefits of locally-produced extra virgin olive oils. CCOG will be joined by local area wineries who will sample their products to reinforce the relationship between fine wines, hand-crafted olive oils, and gourmet cuisine. The Templeton area, long-known for producing premier wines, enjoys the Mediterranean climate that also produces extraordinary extra virgin olive oils. Additional Templeton-and local-area businesses related to fine foods or the art of fine cuisine will be on hand to make this the event a true “Taste of Templeton”. The afternoon will feature wine and beer tastings from local producers plus live music and dancing, with one of San Luis Obispo County's best bands, The JD Project, playing from 1:30-3:30pm and Jim Sweetwater opening from Noon-1pm. Wineries set to participate include Pomar Junction, Castoro, Burbank Ranch, Victor Hugo, Hidden Oaks, Heredange, Laraneta, First Crush, WCP Cellars, Clavo, and Vista Del Rey plus Firestone Walker Brewery. Admission is free. The Templeton Farmer’s Market, largest in San Luis Obispo County, will be an event partner from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm.
