The 12th Annual Paso Robles Olive Festival, a Paso Robles Main Street Association event, will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Paso Robles Downtown City Park (Free Admission and fee for wine and beer tasting only). The Olive Festival features Olive Oil and Olive vendors both locally and outside our county featuring their products along with free olive oil tasting, tasting seminars, cooking demonstrations, and a head-to-head chef cook-off in our outdoor kitchen stadium. Local wineries and breweries will be feature tastings and a commemorative wine glass for a fee. There will be an olive-inspired cooking contest and delicious olive-inspired food sold in our Olive Festival Culinary Row. The public is welcome to enter the cooking contest. The Cooking Contest Awards entry forms available online, www.pasoolivefestival.com, or Main Street office by calling 805-238-4103. There will be music and free olive oil ice cream. Enjoy arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, and much more.

FARMstead ED presents Pickling and Fermenting with Ingrid Hilton at Talley Farms Sunday, August 16th from 10am-2pm. This hands-on class will feature instruction from Ingrid Hilton as she guides the class through the art of pickling and fermenting, a traditional and tasty must have FARMstead-ing skills. The class is $65/pp and includes: • A farm tour where you will learn more about Talley Farms’ in-season fruits & vegetables • A classroom session about the art of preserving perishables • Hands-on pickling where you will create, make & take home the fruits of your labor • Lunch featuring farm fresh ingredients from Talley Farms • Wine tasting from Talley Vineyards line up of estate wines The FARMstead ED Mercantile will be open featuring produce and materials used in the class for sale to DIY back at home. ECHO, El Camino Homeless Organization, the non-profit homeless shelter serving north San Luis Obispo County, invites the community to participate in the 4th Annual Long Walk Home fundraiser. Take a morning stroll with friends around downtown Atascadero, or take a tour and learn how the shelter helps our local homeless families get back home. The event includes music, lunch, and prizes! "This is a critical fundraiser for ECHO," said Board President Jim Patterson. "ECHO has grown by 67% over the last few years. We went from 31 to 50 beds and help many families with children, as well as adults." The team that raises the most wins 7 dinners at Guest House Grill in Atascadero. The individual who raises the most wins an Apple iPad Mini.

This year Golden State Classics Car Club is organizing the weekend cruise night and car show on Labor Day weekend. It is co-hosted by the City of Paso Robles.  There will be pre-1979 classic cars cruising Friday night and showing in the park on Saturday. Participants are invited to tour our city's entertainment spots on Sunday. We are expecting over 300 cars for this event. Net proceeds will go to local charities.

For many years Golden State Classics Car Club hosted a quality, "family-oriented" car show every Labor Day weekend in Paso Robles.
